NavigatE the Fairgrounds
Our grounds offer an authentic, rustic fair experience. Please note the following when planning your visit:
- Terrain: Much of the fairgrounds consist of grass and gravel paths. We recommend comfortable, sturdy footwear for walking the barns and midway.
- Accessibility: While we strive to make our event as accessible as possible, the natural terrain can be uneven in some areas.
- Restrooms: The fairgrounds feature permanent restroom facilities with flushing toilets.
A Piece of Merrill History
The ground you’re walking on has been a community gathering spot since October 10, 1885. The Lincoln County Land Commission originally purchased this acreage for $4,500 to establish a permanent home for agriculture and education. From the historic 1920s Stock Pavilion to the Brickyard School, the architecture of the grounds tells the story of Lincoln County’s growth over the last 140 years.
Off season
The grounds stay busy long after the fair winners are announced! The Fairgrounds are owned and operated by the City of Merrill.
