Start fair week early by cheering on talented young riders and their horses at the Lincoln County Fair Horse Show! Held before the main fair begins, this event showcases months of hard work, training, and dedication as youth competitors demonstrate their skills in a variety of English, Western, trail, halter, and gymkhana classes.

The day features everything from graceful pleasure and equitation classes to exciting speed events like barrel racing, pole bending, flag races, and keyhole. Whether you're a lifelong horse enthusiast or simply looking for a fun family outing, there's something to enjoy throughout the day.

Good to know: Admission is free. The show takes place in the horse arena in front of the grandstand, where spectators can watch from the grandstand's bench seating or the limited molded chairs in the center section. Dress for the weather, as the grandstand is open-air, and remember that horses can be startled by sudden loud noises or unexpected movements near the arena.

New to horse shows? Different classes highlight different skills. In halter classes, the horse's conformation is judged. Showmanship and horsemanship focus on the exhibitor's handling and riding ability. Pleasure classes evaluate the horse's manners and movement, trail classes test how horse and rider navigate obstacles, and gymkhana events showcase speed and precision in timed competitions. It's a great opportunity to see the versatility, athleticism, and partnership between horse and rider.
