Demo Derby
August 9, 2026
3 PM - 7 PM
Bring your Foods & Nutrition entries to meet with the judge and share what you've learned while creating your project. Face-to-face judging gives you the opportunity to talk about your techniques, ingredients, and what you'd do differently next time, making the experience as educational as it is rewarding.
Before you arrive, make sure your entries are presented according to the department rules. Most food exhibits must be on a disposable plate in a self-sealing bag, and recipes are required for nearly all classes. Perishable entries should be brought as fresh as possible. Since the fair does not have refrigeration, only a 4-inch by 4-inch sample of refrigerated items will remain on display after judging.
New to exhibiting? Face-to-face judging is simply a conversation with the judge about your project. There's no need to be nervous—the judge wants to hear about what you made, how you made it, what you learned, and what challenges you overcame. It's a great opportunity to receive personalized feedback and improve your skills for future fairs.
